Who we are

On April 1, 2005, a group of theater enthusiasts founded the Amateur Theater in Boston, and in August of the same year, they registered the Polish Amateur Theater of Boston as a non-profit organization. Well, it has begun!

The first performance was a play by Anna Onichimowska "Room for Rent", which the theater presented with great success twice in 2005/2006. Since then, every year the Polish Amateur Theater in Boston presented a new play. A total of 45 amateur actors played on the stage of the Boston Amateur Theater for the next seventeen years. Some of the players were associated with the theater for many years, others appeared in only one play. Many of the founding members of the Amateur Theater are still active today.

Since its establishment, the Polish Amateur Theater has been associated with the parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in South Boston. It is on the stage of the parish school auditorium that rehearsals and performances of our theater take place. Like any non-profit organization, our activities are supported by multiple organizations, including Polish American sponsors, the Polish Culture Foundation, Zyggie's Tour, Batlic Deli and many more.
